Earlier this year I was approached by Angler’s Mail asking me if I could write up a little mini-series, regarding what I get up to when I’m fishing. In effect, it is about fishing, but more importantly it’s about the ‘feel’ of fishing and enjoying the countryside and all the wildlife to be found beside the rivers and lakes. Really, fishing is just an excuse to be there surrounded by all manner of wonderful things, while the rest of the world passes by somewhere else. I’m always at my happiest in places like these, so being lost by the waterside is almost like being lost to the world, at least for a few precious hours.
